We will do anything for our pets, but for one woman, this meant getting into the back seat, while her pooch rode up front with her hubby. If that wasn’t enough, the canine passenger insisted on holding his hand!
Serial Handholder
Apparently, this isn’t the first time Carrisa has been subjected to the backseat, as Lucy the Golden Retriever insists on riding up front – human-hand-in-paw – with her pet daddy.
Carrisa captured this “tender” moment on video and posted it where it quickly went viral with over one hundred thousand views (and counting).
It’s not just the fact that Lucy insists on being in the front seat with pet dad that has folks sharing and giggling. It’s that smug look she throws Carissa that says it all.
Some viewers empathized with Carissa
“My dog Molly used to do the same thing. She also used to bark at my wife if we held hands in front of her.”
Another confessed;
“My dog won’t ride in the car if he isn’t on his dad’s shoulders.”
Dogs care for us so we do the same
Have we all “gone to the dogs” with how much we allow our canine companions to rule us?
In an interview with The New York Times, Dr. Helen Fisher (Chief Advisor of Match.com), spoke of how caring for a dog may indicate some essential qualities in a man (and potential mate).
She says, “Having a dog says you can care for a creature, that you can follow a schedule and get home to feed it, that you can walk it and love it and spend time with it.”
Fisher went on to add, “That’s the bottom line message that women get when they see a man with a dog – he’s capable of nurturing – he’s committed to this animal.”
This writer would have to agree. There’s nothing more endearing than watching a man who truly loves and cares for his four-legged companion (unless the dog only has three legs, then we might just melt into a puddle of goo).
And if that means we have to share his affections while we are forever stuck in the back seat of the car, then so be it!
Grab the dog treats, and cozy in for the ride. It is worth it in the long run with a good man (and good mutt) at the wheel!
